About the Buddies scheme

Buddies is a peer support scheme for visiting international students coming to the University of Edinburgh for one or two semesters. It’s a great way for new students to meet new people, ask questions, make friends and hit the ground running in Edinburgh.

What does the Committee do?

The Buddies Committee match new international exchange students (International Buddies) into small groups with current Edinburgh students (known as Edinburgh Buddies).

As well as matching Buddies into Buddy Groups the Committee manages the Edinburgh Buddies; organises and runs regular events, trips and activities throughout the year; oversees the wellbeing of everyone involved in the programme; communicates regularly with the Buddies through email and Facebook; and generally makes sure that everyone has a great Buddies experience!
