UCU Assessment boycott

The University and College Union have announced plans for an assessment boycott to start on 6th November 2014. This is because of an ongoing dispute between the Union and Universities nationally about changes to staff pensions.

An assessment boycott means that some academic staff may refuse to set or mark coursework, assignments and exams.

At this stage we do not know how many staff will participate, or how widespread the impact of this action will be. However the University has been working hard to prepare for the boycott and will seek to ensure that the impact on students is minimised whilst at the same time maintaining high academic standards.
