'Click-thru licensing' improved

Edinburgh Research and Innovation (ERI), the University's commercialisation office, has updated its 'click-thru licensing' system, making it easier to buy University-owned products.

The new portal has been created in collaboration with UCL Business and is based on its E-Lucid system.

It offers faster and easier access to research materials, software and copyright products owned by the University.

It is expected to generate more licence deals for University technologies, and enable a broader range of products to be licensed online.

The new system updates the service developed by ERI and launched in 2009, which was one of the first of its kind.

The original click-thru service has resulted in around 30 licence deals for products such as CRFManager, a software package to help manage clinical research facilities.
