University scientists are presenting shows and running workshops and drop-in activities, many at the National Museum of Scotland.
The University also has a central role in hosting the festival. Events will take place at Inspace, the Playfair Library, Talbot Rice Gallery, Teviot Row and Edinburgh College of Art’s Tent Gallery.
There are events to suit all ages and scientific interests, covering everything from electronics to edible flowers.
A highlight for families will be “Dr Bunhead’s Poo and Goo Show”, at George Square Theatre, 23 and 24 March.
