New IS User Services Division launches

Information Services (IS) has undergone a major structural reorganisation, effective as of 1 August.

The restructure was in response to the 2008 IS Help and Support Review.

The restructure combines IT User Services and the Library User Services Division into a single User Services Division.

The new division comprises six sections:

• Help Services Section (sustains an integrated helpdesk and helpline for staff, students, visitors and applications in Library, e-learning and IT services)
• Operational Services Section (provides second-line IT support and services)
• Learning Services Section (delivers skills development courses and e-learning management)
• three College-oriented consultancy teams (College-specific support provided by IT, Library and e-learning specialists)

The restructure involves around one-third of IS staff members.
