Honorary Professor: Isobel Sharp

Isobel Sharp has been made an Honorary Professor in the College of Humanities & Social Science.

Professor Sharp is a chartered accountant and a member of the International Advisory Board for the University of Edinburgh Business School.

She is a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of the UK Green Investment Bank, and is a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of investment management firm Winton Capital Group.

She is a non-executive member of the Audit Advisory Board of the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body and Chair of the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee of Her Majesty’s Passport Office.

Professor Sharp has previously served as Audit Committee Chair of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority, and has served on the UK’s Accounting Standards Board, the Financial Reporting Review and many other professional committees. She was President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for Scotland 2007-08.

She has co-authored a number of books on financial statements, reward governance for senior executives, stock exchange reporting and corporate reporting practices.
