Honorary Professor: James Clunie

Dr James Clunie has been made an Honorary Professor with the College of Humanities and Social Science.

Dr Clunie graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics.

He also completed his PhD in Management at Edinburgh.

His research interests include short selling, asset pricing and risk assessment for complex financial products.

He was a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Edinburgh between 2003 and 2007 and was Director for the MSc Finance and Investment programme during its first years.

Dr Clunie currently works for Jupiter Asset Management, managing the Jupiter Absolute Return Fund.

He has also worked for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (as Investment Director), at Aberdeen Asset Management (as Head of Global Equities) and at Murray Johnstone International (as Head of Asset Allocation).

He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
