Visiting Professor: Anthea Lints

Anthea Lints has been made a Visiting Professor for the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine.

After graduating from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1975, Dr Lints trained as a GP in Edinburgh.

She then moved to the University of Western Ontario in Canada, where she completed a master’s degree in medical education.

In 1980, she returned to the UK and shortly afterwards became a partner in a GP practice near Chelmsford in Essex.

During that time, she became involved in medical education and training and ultimately became Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education in London.

In March 2010, Dr Lints returned to Edinburgh as Director of Postgraduate GP Education and Associate Postgraduate Dean in the South East Scotland Deanery.

She remained clinically active in general practice until 18 months ago.

Dr Lints is married to an intensive care physician, and has a son studying architecture at Edinburgh College of Art (eca) and a daughter who graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2009.
