Voucher Reward Scheme

More than 300 gift vouchers have been awarded to high performing staff this year, through the University's Voucher Reward Scheme.

The scheme allows managers to recognise an employee, for an exceptional act or effort, by awarding them either a £50 or £100 gift voucher for a range of shops.

Two new types of voucher have recently been added to the scheme.

Love from Indie Street vouchers are valid at a growing community of more than 60 of Edinburgh’s best independent and local businesses, from bookshops to florists and restaurants to fashion boutiques.

Love2Shop vouchers are valid in high street stores including Argos, Boots, Debenhams, Toys ‘R’ Us, House of Fraser, River Island, New Look and Waterstones, as well as at restaurants, attractions and more.

Vouchers for M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are already available through the scheme.

I’m a real advocate of the Voucher Reward Scheme and believe the vouchers offer a quick, easy and tangible way of recognising staff effort. Staff are genuinely chuffed when they are told about a voucher award, and I think the £50 or £100 voucher value makes for a meaningful gesture, but more, it’s the thought behind it that adds true value.I think this is a wonderful initiative, and I think it holds a strong place in our overall staff benefits package and serves as a great complement to contribution pay arrangements.

Reward

The purpose of the scheme is to provide managers with a way to quickly reward staff for an exceptional act or effort that goes beyond the normal expectations of their grade.

While the scheme is primarily for grades UE01 to UE05 and equivalent, all employees on grades UE01 to UE09 and equivalent are eligible to be considered for an award.

Staff members with feedback or a suggestion about the Voucher Reward initiative are invited to email the scheme:
