Candidates for Rector to debate aims

Rectorial Election 2015 candidates will appear at hustings ahead of February’s voting.

The candidates are Steve Morrison and Peter McColl.

The hustings will provide them with the opportunity to expand on their manifestos and aims, to debate issues, and to respond to audience questions.

Open to all staff and students, the hustings will take place at 6.30pm on 4 February in Teviot Row House.

Candidate statements

Mr Morrison is Non-Executive Chairman and a founding member of independent broadcast production company All3Media. He studied politics at Edinburgh.

Mr McColl is the University's current Rector. An Edinburgh alumnus, he is a writer, activist and charity worker.

How to vote

All current staff and students can vote in the election.

Voting will take place primarily through the 'Online Voting' tab on MyEd, and will be open from 9am on 10 February until 7pm on 11 February.

Voters who have requested a postal vote must return ballot papers to the Deputy Returning Officer by noon on 5 February.
