New College Registrar

Dr Catherine Martin has been appointed College Registrar in the College of Humanities & Social Science.

She will take up her post on 27 April, and replaces Frank Gribben.

Dr Martin is currently College Secretary in the College of Arts at the University of Glasgow.

Senior role

As Registrar, Dr Martin will be part of the College's senior management team.

She will have responsibility for leading the professional services provided to 11 schools and more than 20,000 students.

Dr Martin's diverse expertise will bring a wealth of experience to the role of College Registrar. I am delighted she is joining us, and very much look forward to working with her.

Biography

Dr Martin holds an MA in English Literature & French and a PhD in French Literature & Language.

After teaching French at the University of St Andrews, she trained as a chartered accountant.

She worked in audit and corporate finance for global accountancy firms, Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and Mazars LLP, before joining the University of Glasgow in 2010.

Dr Martin is also a member of the Arts & Humanities Research Council audit committee.

I am very much looking forward to using my experience of working both within and outside Higher Education to lead a professional administrative team which enables the College of Humanities & Social Science and all of its staff and students to build on their considerable successes to date.
