The Advance HE fellowships are an internationally respected recognition of professionalism in teaching and supporting learning within higher education. There are four Fellowship categories: Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow, and Principal Fellow, that align with differing levels of experience and leadership.
The EdTA is the accredited central mentoring scheme and consists of a 1-2 year self-driven journey of writing and evidencing your teaching experience in alignment with Advance HE’s professional standards framework (a.k.a., the PSF). The EdTA is not a formal course or training programme, but a mentoring scheme. In the EdTA, you are mentored by an experienced colleague who supports you when writing a portfolio of blogs that is submitted to and judged by our assessment panel. We also have local mentoring schemes at UoE, where staff run their own mentoring, training, and events suited to your discipline and subject matter.
Please take a look at our pages below to learn more about being a participant in the EdTA, training for EdTA mentors and assessors, and information for those interested in or leading local mentoring groups. If you are new to Edinburgh, we recommend you take a look at our Prospective EdTA participants page.
