The Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 was revised by the Government and came into force on 29 February 2008. As a result of this, the University of Edinburgh, as an employer, has a legal responsibility to prevent illegal working and therefore must check that all employees are entitled to work in the United Kingdom (UK).

Interest Free Visa Loan

The University is offering a loan to eligible staff to assist with paying visa costs and NHS surcharges.

Reimbursement of Visa Fees

The University will help new and existing staff who originate from outside of the European Economic Area with the cost of their Tier 2 visa applications and extensions.
