Course Summary
This course consists of two components, an oral component and a written component which develop productive Russian language skills at an advanced level.
Course Description
Both the oral component (Oral for Russian) and the written component (Language Paper 1) build on knowledge and skills acquired in earlier years, and develop both writing and oral skills further, in language classes and through independent study. Language Paper 1 consists of two parts: Prose and Writing in Style, each of which is taught for one Semester (Writing in Style in Semester 1, Prose in Semester 2). Both parts of the written component mobilise the accumulated knowledge of all levels of Russian (grammar, vocabulary, syntax), developing language skills to the CEFR level equivalent to C1+/C2. They advance skills in producing a coherent and sophisticated text in Russian on a complex subject, summarising information from various sources and constriction and reconstruction of arguments.
