Course Summary

A course for students with some basic knowledge of Chinese who wish to improve. It is designed to further develop beginners' four language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students with a higher level of Chinese language than stated above are not permitted to take this course and may be asked to withdraw from the course. This course runs in semester 2. On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take Foundation Business Chinese 1 (ASST07022) or Chinese 2A (ASST08018).

Course Description

Foundation Chinese Language 2 is the follow up to Foundation Chinese Language 1. Students who have successfully completed Foundation Chinese Language 1 or have an equivalent knowledge in the language will be ideally suited for this course. This course is textbook-based and aims to further strengthen a beginner's basic knowledge of spoken and written Chinese. Modern and traditional Chinese culture and society will enrich students' knowledge of the East-Asian world. At the end of this course, students should reach a higher basic level and near to intermediate level of Chinese.

Additional Restrictions

This course CANNOT be taken alongside Foundation Business Chinese 1 (ASST07022) or Chinese 2A (ASST08018). Auditing this course is not permitted.
