Course Summary

A lecture course providing instruction in advanced aspects of modern inorganic chemistry reflecting the research interests in the School. The course comprises individual lecture courses covering the chemistry of elements from all parts of the periodic table, under themes of main group chemistry, synthetic inorganic chemistry, advanced organometallic chemistry/catalysis, and inorganic materials. Emphasis is placed upon applications of inorganic compounds in areas as diverse as catalysis, advanced materials, biology and medicine.

Course Description

The course comprises five lecture course units, each associated with a small group tutorial. The final examination consists of five questions, one from each of the course units. Students must answer four questions from these five questions.
