Their mum, Barbara Tait Sinclair is a Shetlander and the family visits ‘home’, over the years since they emigrated, have been regular and memorable. “We jumped at the chance to take part in this study. It helps to connect us to our heritage, strengthens the pride in our ancestry and hopefully contributes to meaningful discoveries about people with Viking roots.” Helga and Ingrid live in two different cities in New Zealand and make the most of social media to connect regularly when they can’t be together in person.
