Why did you choose to study at The University of Edinburgh?

I decided to study at Edinburgh because I wished to pursue my studies overseas and had a friend who went to Edinburgh. She never ran out of good things to say about it! When I called the admissions team to discuss my application, I was really impressed by how helpful everyone was, and my decision was made!

How did the R(D)SVS contribute to your career choices?

Personally, not much at all. I have always known what I wanted to do. What I will say is that the Dick Vet gave me a very well rounded education which really helped me get a good start in mixed practice!

What is your present occupation?

I’m an associate veterinarian at a fully mixed practice in Ontario.

Did your EMS placements help you in determining the field of veterinary medicine you wanted to pursue professionally?

Yes, but from my position it mostly cemented that what I wanted to do was right for me. I also feel that my EMS set me up extremely well for my first year in practice!

If you could offer some advice to prospective students what would it be?

Go and see the place - you’ll be sold!

How would you rate the support staff?

A++
