Welcome to The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies' Small Animal Medicine website.
The Small Animal Medicine team consists of seven RCVS, ECVIM or ACVIM specialists in small animal medicine and is expertly supported by a team of residents, interns and nurses. Our combined aim is simply to provide outstanding service and care to our patients, clients and referring veterinarians.
The facilities at the Hospital for Small Animals are world-class and include state-of-the-art ultrasound, computed tomography and critical care suites. Crucially, the medicine team has on-site support from specialists in soft-tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, oncology, dermatology, anaesthesia, orthopaedics and pathology. This support network allows us to deliver excellent care to patients that have a wide range of medical conditions which is often demonstrated in the case studies featured on our website.
The medicine service also provides teaching and training opportunities for veterinary students which ensures that the next generation of veterinarians share our passion for internal medicine. The medicine team is committed to advancing the practice of medicine and are actively involved in research which aims to provide a better understanding of disorders which commonly affect cats and dogs.
We would be delighted to offer free advice to referring veterinarians on any medicine cases that you are managing. We are ready to accept canine and feline referrals in internal medicine at any time. We hope to regularly meet with referring veterinarians at our regular CPD events and very much look forward to working with you in the times ahead.
