Award for Small Animal Medicine Research
Congratulations to Adam Gow who was awarded the Peter Holt award last month by the Association of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons for the best abstract presented on a topic relevant to soft tissue surgery in the last 12 months.
Adam recently completed a residency in small animal medicine at the Dick Vet where he undertook a number of projects which explored the pathogenesis of neurological disturbances in dogs with liver disease.
His award winning research demonstrated a link between inflammation and hepatic encephalopathy in dogs with a congenital portosystemic shunt.
This work has recently been published in Metabolic Brain Diseases
