How to register with the DVEP
The Dick Vet Equine Practice provides a comprehensive first opinion service for local horse owners.
We are committed to providing excellent care and helping clients and the public take better care of horses.
Why register with us?
Our practice offers first class clinical care for your horse, based in an advanced referral hospital with excellent facilities. Our team of dedicated equine vets offer all the routine services you would expect of a progressive ambulatory practice (see our services), provide emergency cover 24 hours a day, and work closely with the hospital based specialists when required. Almost all our services can be offered at your yard, but you are welcome to make use of our facilities and bring your horse to the clinic for your appointment to make use of if you prefer.
As a teaching practice we are also responsible for the education of our veterinary students. This means that our staff are always trained in the latest techniques and procedures. During term time we bring the final year students out on the road with us, developing their application of knowledge to practical situations. These students are heavily involved in the cases they attend but are supervised at all times, and your animal will always be under the care of one of our clinicians. During the holiday periods we also often have students from the earlier years seeing practice with us, learning the ropes and getting a feel for the equine industry. By choosing to register your animal with us you can help our students learn and develop into the vets of the future.
