Cytology service

The Clinical Laboratory provides a comprehensive cytology service including fine needle aspirates, body fluids and bone marrow.

The laboratory

The laboratory is open 9am-5pm from Monday to Friday and is staffed by a technical manager and a team of experienced technicians, with reports provided by qualified Veterinary Clinical Pathologists.

Cytology service

The standard cytology charge includes the examination of Giemsa-stained cytospin/smear preparations. Additional special stains incur an extra charge.

Turnaround time is one working day.

Smears

This includes fine needle aspirates and impression smears.

Fluids

Fluid services include pleural, pericardial, peritoneal, synovial and BAL.
