Teaching Awards

Teaching excellence at Edinburgh has been acknowledged with a set of awards devised and operated by the University’s students’ association.

The EUSA Teaching Awards recognise innovative and inspiring teaching and highlight the many individual success stories across the University.

Established in 2009 by the Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA), the awards are part of an ongoing commitment to highlight the importance of excellence in teaching alongside the University’s research activity.

Celebrating success

The strong collaboration between EUSA and the University of Edinburgh was once again a success. It has provided a formal, yet fun platform for students to show their appreciation for teachers, support staff, tutors, learning communities and peer supporters.

The event was successfully compered by student hosts David Johnston and Polly Glynn, who introduced the awards and academic staff presenters throughout the night.

The accolades were punctuated with exceptional performances from university groups, including the Tango Society, the Improverts, and the Salsa Society.

The evening was a wonderful opportunity to unite students and staff together, and showcased the strength of teaching at the University of Edinburgh.

It’s important to recognise and celebrate the great work that our staff do to support learning experiences at the University. What’s even better is that this recognition and celebration is student-led and student-organised. I know that staff are always incredibly proud to be nominated for, let alone win, an award.
