Junior Vets Returns

We’re delighted to announce that Series 2 of Junior Vets, will be airing from Monday, 2nd June at 7:45am on the CBBC channel and it will then be available on the BBC iPlayer if that’s a bit early for you (UK only - sorry!).

Junior vets

The show gives six kids privileged access to the School and its veterinary hospitals and over ten episodes they get involved in real cases with our vets. We hope that the show will give kids everywhere the opportunity to see what it is like inside vet school and a taste of the work which we do here at the School.

Over 1,000 kids applied to take part this year following the success of season 1, where top Junior Vet Lauren was crowned ‘Head Vet’ after excelling in all areas. This season the kids will face a greater range of challenges, as well as all areas of the School, they will also be going to even more zoos, wildlife hospitals and events!

Each episode will see the six kids split into pairs and working alongside vets to gain hands on experience and a flavour of what a career in veterinary medicine entails. They will also learn key skills ranging from suturing to diagnostic imaging.

The ten episodes will be presented by Alex Riley, best known for his work on The One Show. Alex is an experienced presenter and is with the kids every step of the way, to help them through their time at veterinary school.

Over the course of the shows the kids will work on everything from snails to sharks and there are plenty of surprises along the way.

The hugely popular web game will also be returning to the CBBC website, updated for the new series with new cases and skills. A sneak peek of episode one is now available on the BBC website.
