International Veterinary Students Association Conference (2016)

Edinburgh Vet School enjoys good links with the International Veterinary Students’ Association and we were pleased to host an IVSA symposium in 2015.

The International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) is a student run organisation that represents over 30,000 students from more than 50 different countries. IVSA works to bring veterinary students together through the exchange of ideas, knowledge and culture, by hosting annual symposia and congresses, supporting local and regional events, and facilitating international exchanges.

IVSA actively supports and enables students to improve their education on different topics, such as animal welfare and held the first ‘IVSA Animal Welfare Conference’, to enable students to gain knowledge and practical skills that allow the incorporation of good animal welfare into their veterinary career and practice.

The Dick Vet’s Marchig International Animal Welfare Centre was proud to be invited to support and partner with IVSA for this conference, which attracted more than 200 participants, who gathered in Utrecht in Spring 2016.
