Gabriela Peniche

PhD Student (2015-2019)

 

Gaby is a conservation biologist interested in understanding ecosystem health and finding ways to address the loss of biological diversity. 

She completed a degree in ecology in Mexico before moving to Australia and qualifying as veterinary nurse to increase her understanding of wildlife health management. She then moved to London were she completed a MSc in Wildlife Biology and worked for almost 10 years for the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London and Natural England implementing disease risk analysis plans for native endangered species reintroduction programmes.

She recently completed her PhD degree focusing on health-related regional differences in Scottish birds of prey and its relation to the health of our ecosystem.
