Rabies Vaccination
Preventive health campaigns beyond our hospital
Many clinicians in the vet school work on projects which aim to improve the health and welfare of animals beyond the hospital. Several clinicians are involved in preventive health campaigns in sub-Saharan Africa and India. In particular, we work closely with the Mission Rabies charity to help them deliver mass vaccination campaigns in some of the most under-resourced communities in the world. Together, we have vaccinated over 1 million dogs against rabies which has resulted in a dramatic decline in rabies in both human and dog populations in our key study sites of Goa, India and Blantyre, Malawi.
