Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is synonymous with excellence in higher education. HRIDAY (Health Related Information Dissemination Amongst Youth) is a Delhi-based voluntary organisation created in June 1992 as a response to India’s health transition, with altered living habits leading to rising burdens of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Health professionals at HRIDAY are engaged in awareness raising, advocacy and research aimed towards prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, particularly focusing on youth.

HRIDAY works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, World Health Organization (WHO), and non-governmental organisations of national and international repute. HRIDAY was awarded the WHO Director General’s Award for contributions to tobacco control in 2002. The programme has been listed as a ‘Best Practice Model’ and recommended for global replication by WHO.

ARK Foundation seeks to be a leading research and advocacy centre pursuing sustainable solutions for the inclusive development of Bangladesh. Its mission is to create impact on people’s lives through operations research, evidence-based solutions, training, advocacy and communication in the fields of health, nutrition, population, education, gender, environment and human resources development.

Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) is a leading public health institution in Uganda and within the East and Central Africa region. Founded in 1954 as a Department of Preventive Medicine, under the Faculty of Medicine, it became an Institute of Public Health in 1974 and was upgraded to the School of Public Health in 2007. MakSPH is one of the four Schools under Makerere University’s College of Health Sciences.

The University’s mandate is to provide higher education, undertake research, disseminate knowledge and foster relationships with the outside persons and bodies. The strategic mandate of the University is derived from Science and Technology in its name. Its vision is to be globally recognised as the Premier Centre of excellence in Africa for teaching in Science and Technology for development; producing high calibre graduates with knowledge and expertise to support the industrial and socio-economic development of Ghana and Africa. In summary, the vision can be stated as "Advancing knowledge in Science and Technology for sustainable development in Africa". KNUST’s missions is to provide an environment for teaching, research and entrepreneurship training in Science and Technology for the industrial and socio-economic development of Ghana, Africa and other nations. KNUST also offers service to community, is open to all the people of Ghana and positioned to attract scholars, industrialists and entrepreneurs from Africa and other international community.

The Economics of Tobacco Control Project (ETCP) was founded in 2011 as a project in the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (Saldru). The project started out small, but has grown rapidly in the past seven years. The Principal Investigator of the Project is Corné van Walbeek. The Project currently (Jan. 2019) employs eight researchers, three administrative staff, and five postdoctoral fellows.

The focus of the ETCP is on the economics of tobacco control. Our research focus is primarily on tobacco taxation and pricing, and illicit trade in tobacco products. Our tagline is “supporting public health through rigorous and objective research”.  Our objectives are diametrically opposed to the commercial interests of the tobacco industry, but we are not a lobby group.

Addis Ababa University (AAU), which was established in 1950 as the University College of Addis Ababa (UCAA), is the oldest and the largest higher learning and research institution in Ethiopia. Since its inception, the University has been the leading centre in teaching-learning, research and community services. In its 14 campuses, the University runs 70 undergraduate and 293 graduate programs (72 PhD and 221 Masters), and various specialisations in Health Sciences.

In recent years, the University has been undertaking various reform schemes in order to cope with and respond to the fast-changing national and international educational dynamics. At present the University has 10 colleges, 4 institutes that run both teaching and research, and 6 research institutes that predominantly conduct research. Within these academic units, there are 55 departments, 12 centers, 12 schools, and 2 teaching hospitals.

The MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM is one of two research units established in sub- Saharan Africa by the Medical Research Council UK and is the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM’s single largest investment in medical research in a low and middle income country. MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM represents a unique concentration of scientific expertise and high quality research platforms in the West African region.

The Unit’s investigator-led research is underpinned by the combination of excellent laboratory facilities and easy access to the field with well-defined populations that are highly supportive of our research, excellent clinical services, rigorous ethical procedures and ability to deliver GCP-compliant clinical trials. Our large research portfolio spans basic research to the evaluation of interventions for the control of diseases of public health importance in sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2019 Aga Khan Medical University and the National Tobacco Control Cell, Pakistan were added to the TCCP consortium as additional partners.

The Aga Khan University is an institution of higher education that has programmes and campuses in Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan.
