RESPIRE partners achieve international accreditations for grant management

Three RESPIRE partners have been issued with certificates for the Standard for Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP).

Universiti Malaya, Child Health Research Foundation and International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh have been awarded Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP) certifications.

The GFGP is the trusted Standard for grant funding. It is the first international standard of its kind and was developed with support from some of the world’s largest public and private sector funders. It sets out in detail over 300 requirements which major funders expect and look for when allocating funding. These requirements encompass various areas of grant administration, including financial management, human resources, procurement and governance.

During the application process, applicants are asked to provide an assessment of their ability to comply with one of four tiers of the GFGP Standard: Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum, based on the size and complexity of their organisation and grant being assessed.

RESPIRE co-lead, Universiti Malaya (UM) and Bangladesh-based partner, Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) were each certified for the bronze tier of the GFGP.

The International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icdd,b) were separately awarded a platinum tier certification-- the highest classification available via the GFGP.

All three organisations join KEM Hospital Research Centre, who was the first RESPIRE partner to gain the Standard last year.

Congratulations to everyone at UM, CHRF and icdd,b for their new accreditation!
