MBEs for Ruth McQuillan and Harry Campbell

Dr Ruth McQuillan has been awarded an MBE for services to science during Covid-19. Professor Harry Campbell has been awarded an MBE for services to international child health and global public health.

Both Dr Ruth McQuillan and Professor Harry Campbell have been part of the UNCOVER - Usher Network for COVID-19 Evidence Reviews - team; working to gather together existing scientific evidence relevant to COVID-19 to inform policy makers thoughout the pandemic. Dr Ruth McQuillan says she considers her award to be a recognition of the whole UNCOVER team of Harry, Evi, Emilie, Marshall, Gwenetta, Neneh, Harish, Florance, Simon and all the countless other staff and the more than 100 students that make UNCOVER.

Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh

Professor Aziz Sheikh has been awarded a knighthood for services to Covid-19 research and policy. Aziz has led many research collaborations across Scotland, the UK and internationally, working closely with policy makers to focus on key scientific discoveries through the course of the pandemic.
