Md. Nazim Uzzaman Wins Research Prize at 10th IPCRG World Conference

RESPIRE fellow – Md. Nazim Uzzaman – has won the 10th IPCRG World Conference research prize for his presentation of his fellowship research, ‘Blended Learning on COPD: A Feasibility Study in Bangladesh.’

10th International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) World Conference

The 10th IPCRG World Conference took place on 6-8th May, 2021, and was the first online conference in its history. It is the leading conference for healthcare professionals, globally, who work in primary care, family medicine, or the community and hold a respiratory interest.

This year’s theme was Breathing and Living Well.

Nazim

Nazim is a RESPIRE fellow with an active and keen interest in developing a clinical academic career in applied respiratory health research. His primary focus is contributing to reducing the burden of chronic respiratory illness, specifically asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Bangladesh.

Nazim presented his award-winning abstract on the third day of the conference, and found out he had won a few days later. The prize for his success is to receive free registration, travel, and accommodation to the next IPCRG world conference, which is scheduled to be held in Malaga, Spain, on 5-7th May, 2022. 

I am very grateful to RESPIRE for supporting me towards progressing my long-term career goal of developing a clinical academic career in respiratory applied health research. This is only the beginning; I have to dream and go a long way.
