Exceptional service

The Principal's Medal for Exceptional Service recognises a staff member, or team, who makes a contribution to the University that far exceeds what is expected of their role.

Professors Harry Campbell, Igor Rudan, and Harish Nair are the joint winners of the Exceptional Service Medal, 2019.

They were nominated for their outstanding, sustained and multi-faceted contribution to global health over the last two decades through the Centre for Global Health Research, the World Health Organization's Collaborating Centre for Population Health Research and Training, the Edinburgh University Global Health Society, and the Journal of Global Health.

Roles in RESPIRE

We are delighted to have the three Professors as part of the RESPIRE team, based in Edinburgh.

Professor Harry Campbell is Co-Director of RESPIRE and the UK lead for Pakistan. Professor Igor Rudan leads Platform 2 (Training and Capacity Building) and is the UK lead for Bangladesh. Professor Harish Nair leads Programme 1 (Acute projects) and is the UK lead for India.
