"A Good Death"

A moving account of the experiences of Martin, a patient with end-stage emphysema during the final months of his life. It embraces the struggle which the patient and his family faced, and gives piognant context to the issues of palliative treatments for chronic respiratory failure, advanced care planning, and hospice care. It explores the fears and frustrations of an individual and his family, as they face an imminent death, and deals with some of the medical challenges which modern health care services face in making death "good" rather than "bad".
