Leadership and people
The Centre for Global Health (CGH) is led by Heads of Centre Professor Harry Campbell and Professor Igor Rudan.
Current key research projects and programmes from across the Centre for Global Health include:
An EU Innovative Medicines Initiative (Horizon-2020) programme to study the role of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in childhood pneumonia, awarded to Professors Harish Nair and Harry Campbell, to develop a large international RSV epidemiological, clinical, biobank and biomarker consortium project.
An NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Respiratory Health (RESPIRE) on respiratory illnesses in South-East Asia awarded to Professors Aziz Sheikh and Harry Campbell.
An NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Tackling Infections to the Benefit of Africa (TIBA) awarded to Professor Mark Woolhouse.
Global Health Academy
Professor Liz Grant, a member of CGH, is Assistant Principal Global Health across the University of Edinburgh, and is Director of the Global Health Academy. The University-wide Global Academies focus on collaborative action to deliver global impact on some of the greatest challenges facing us today. The Global Health Academy works at the epicentre of global health challenges across the world. It aims to improve global health and make life better through collaborative, interdisciplinary research, education and resource development. It provides a framework for education that strengthens global health resources and knowledge. This cross-University initiative brings together work in Global Health across the University and beyond.

The Edinburgh University Global Health Society is a student-run society, that lists Professor Harry Campbell as their patron.
Journal of Global Health
The Journal of Global Health is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Edinburgh University Global Health Society, a not-for-profit organization registered in the UK. The journal publishes editorials, news, viewpoints, original research and review articles in two issues per year.
