Health and Social Care Data-Driven Innovation programme welcomes Partner Engagement and Marketing Lead
Colleen Hubbard joins the Health and Social Care Data-Driven Innovation (HSCDDI) programme to lead partnerships, engagement and marketing activity as it embarks on an exciting phase of growth.
The programme, which seeks to drive advances in health and social care through the application of data science, is hosted by the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute. Initial priorities will include important health and social care challenges, such as frailty.
Joining recently appointed Director, Dr Marcus Harrison, Colleen will support development of the Usher Innovation Community – integrating the activities of service professionals, academics and industry to identify new, co-produced data-driven insights and solutions to our most pressing health and care challenges.
Colleen has an impressive track record working with diverse stakeholders across the public, private and third sectors, building marketing programmes, propositions and campaigns to drive change in the delivery of healthcare.
The announcement comes at an incredibly exciting time for the HSCDDI programme as it strengthens its management team ahead of the opening of the new Usher building at Edinburgh BioQuarter in early 2024.
The new Usher building will bring together academics, service professionals and industry from across Scotland and the UK, focused on transforming health and social care through data. Its construction forms a key component of Edinburgh BioQuarter’s wider development over the coming years – creating Edinburgh’s health innovation district.
I am excited to join the HSCDDI programme at such a pivotal time in its development and to establish and see through the activity that will support engagement with the programme, driving collaboration and innovation for better health and care.

Colleen Hubbard is an award-winning marketing and communications leader with more than twenty years of experience developing marketing and engagement programmes both in the UK and internationally. She has led marketing activity and service improvement programmes whilst working for the NHS, in the health sciences university sector, and for private healthcare companies.
