Honours for Professor Amanda Amos
Professor Amanda Amos receives OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
The Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019, published on Saturday 8 June, recognises the outstanding achievements of people across the United Kingdom. We are delighted that Amanda Amos, Professor of Health Promotion at the Usher Institute, was awarded an OBE for services to Public Health.
Smoking and tobacco control
Amanda's research interest is focussed around smoking and tobacco control, working at the University of Edinburgh in the field of Health Promotion since 1985.
She leads the Group for Research on Inequalities and Tobacco (GRIT) - an interdisciplinary research group which includes members from the three Colleges at the University of Edinburgh. GRIT is part of the UK Centre for Tobacco and Alcohol Studies - a virtual network across the UK.
