The  event, held at the Grassmarket Community Project, was one of a series organised by Martyn Pickersgill, Wellcome Trust Reader in Social Studies of Biomedicine, as part of his British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award.

The day included a talk and Q & A session with Norman Lamb, a workshop and public panel discussion with contributions from Amy Chandler, Chancellor’s Fellow, School of Health in Social Science, Sinead Rhodes Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director, SMC Research Centre and Chris O’Sullivan from the Mental Health Foundation.

This was an important opportunity for the audience to gain feedback on their work, increase their understanding of the research-policy nexus, and to foster the development of networks of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
