SOCCS has recruited several thousand CRC cases and age, sex and area-of-residence matched healthy individuals from all areas of Scotland. DNA, PBLs and plasma have been stored for analysis.

Genome wide association data are available from about 1000 cases and 1000 controls and environmental exposure data (including dietary FFQ data and plasma vitamin D levels) and survival data are available (based on linkage to cancer registry national death records).
