NEWS: Cancer Quality Performance Indicator dashboard added to SCRIS

The Scottish Cancer Quality Performance Indicator (QPI) dashboard now sits within the Scottish Cancer Registry and Intelligence Service (SCRIS).

The SCRIS dashboards provide a secure single point of entry for an increasing number of national cancer datasets in Scotland. This means most cancer data (including QPIs) from across Scotland are now accessible from one place.

Providing cancer data in a single, secure location helps health professionals deliver improved cancer services and better care for patients.

Developments guided by users

The addition of the QPI dashboard into SCRIS is one of many developments which has been directed by SCRIS user feedback. The functionalities of the dashboards have been designed to meet user needs.

Adding the Cancer QPI dashboard means that users don’t have to access multiple locations for the information they need. This means a more efficient workflow, releasing time for health professionals to provide direct cancer care to patients.

Future datasets to be added to the SCRIS dashboards include:

  • SACT (Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy) data
  • Radiotherapy data

Collaborative project

SCRIS is a collaborative project between IHDP and Public Health Scotland (PHS). Following the development of the SCRIS dashboard, it was launched in May 2019 for NHS users.

The two organisations continue to work together to ensure SCRIS develops further, as well as providing users with faster and more flexible access to cancer data from across Scotland. This will mean that health professionals can provide better cancer services and ultimately means improved outcomes of those affected by cancer.
