Patient and public involvement (PPI) in research allows valuable knowledge and experience from patients and the public to improve the quality and relevance of research.
Patient and Public Involvement in Research means research being carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.
If you live in Scotland, register for SHARE (Scottish Health Research Register), an NHS Research Scotland initiative. You can also submit your details to the Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility, no matter where you live.
Further information on public engagement events is available from the Administrative Data Research Network or the Farr Institute of Health Informatics Research.
