On 23 December 2021, the Scottish Government COVID-19 Recovery Committee held an evidence session in which results collected by the EAVE II team were discussed.
These preliminary results came from the team's investigation into the relative severity of the then-dominant Omircon variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. These findings helped the UK avoid a second winter lockdown.

The COVID-19 Recovery Committee launched an inquiry to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on potential drivers of economic inactivity.
A report of its findings were published on 7 February 2023. EAVE II's Principal Investigator, Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh, provided comments for the report.
