Principal Investigators
Sir Aziz Sheikh is Professor of Primary Care Research and Development and leads The University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute. He has long been an expert in using routinely collected health care datato do public health related research. |
Professor Cathie Sudlow is the inaugural Director of the British Heart Foundation Data Science Centre. She is also Chair of Neurology and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh. |

Kamlesh Khunti is Professor of Primary Care Diabetes and Vascular Medicine at the University of Leicester, UK. He is a member of UK Government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) and Chair of the SAGE Ethnicity Sub-panel. |

Declan Bradley is a Clinical Lecturer at Queen’s Belfast University, as well as a COG-UK Principal Investigator and consultant in public health medicine at the Public Health Agency, Northern Ireland. |
Siobhan Murphy is our Core Researcher for Northern Ireland. She is a Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast. |
Professor Kee is the Director of the Centre for Public Health in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast. |
Scotland
Chris Robertson is one of our Senior Investigators for Scotland. He is a Professor of Statistics at the University of Strathclyde, and particular expertise in the analysis of linked health data and infectious diseases. He is also the Head of Statistics at Public Health Scotland. |
Sir Lewis Ritchie is Professor of General Practice, Chair of Steering Group of the Scottish Health Protection Network. |

Dr Jim McMenamin is Interim Clinical Director of Health Protection Scotland, part of Public Health Scotland, and is their Incident Response Director for the COVID-19 response. He is a member of the UK New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threat Advisory Group (NERVTAG). |
William Whiteley is a Scottish Senior Clinical Fellow (funded by CSO) in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh. He also is part of the PHF Data Science Centre's team. |

Ronan Lyons is one of our Senior Investigators for Wales. He is Clinical Professor of Public Health at Swansea University, and Co-director at the SAIL Databank. |
Professor David Ford is Professor of Informatics at Swansea University and Director of Population Data Science based at Swansea University Medical School. |

Communications, operations & PPI
PPI - Patient & Public Involvement
Samaira Khan is the Public Involvement and Engagement Manager for the BHF Data Science Centre and is currently leading leads implementation of the PPIE Strategy for the COALESCE project. She works in partnership with patients, the public, NHS, researchers and clinicians to enable the safe and ethical use of health data. |

Wendy is the Research Manager for COALESCE and is based at the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh. She is also Chief Operating Officer for a wider Digital and Respiratory Research portfolio at the Usher Institute. |

Patient and Public Involvement Volunteers
I am a retired Chartered Engineer who has been a lay member of a number of Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research projects over a period of several years. Most recently, I have been involved as both a Steering Group and PAG member, reviewing EAVE II research tasks. |
Karen is a qualified Human Resources professional who retired from Local Government due to ill health. She has delivered health awareness training in areas of deprivation and has served as a Lay Chair of the Patients Group of the RCGPNI and, more recently, as a member of the PPI team on the CO-CONNECT project. |
I am a retired Company Administrator. I have more than one comorbidity. I have been involved in PPIE research for many years. My main reason in being part of PPIE research is to make a difference for future care. |
My Name is Mike Molete and I have been a Patient's Championing & a Carers' Ambassador for over 10 years. Being a member of a BAME group, I am passionate about advocating the voices of people from deprived areas and to improve diversity and inclusion of underrepresented and marginalised groups. I have participated and collaborated in committees and boards with the aim of tackling and removing barriers to PPI participation and I enjoy working with researchers to ensure research strategies are inclusive and accessible for the wider community as well as making sure that their research initiatives help to reduce health inequalities in every shape or form' |
