Over April/May 2024 the Usher Institute will be relocating from our current sites to the Usher Building at Edinburgh BioQuarter - next door to Building NINE.
Directions for arriving at our sites by car, foot or public transport can be found below, in addition to the postal address of each building.
Usher Building at Edinburgh BioQuarter
The Usher Building is part of the Edinburgh BioQuarter campus.
The University of Edinburgh Transport & Parking department has substantial information on reaching this campus by any method
Parking at BioQuarter
A number of University car parks are located at BioQuarter. University car parks are for the use of permit holders only, and are subject to the University’s Parking Regulations. Staff are welcome to apply for a permit.
Visitors should note that they will need to park in the visitor car parks at the Royal Infirmary hospital (A, B and C).
Park & Ride facilities
There is free parking at Sheriffhall Park & Ride, just off the A7. Fast and frequent buses (services 33 and 48) connect this site to BioQuarter - the journey time is around 10 minutes.
You can also park at Newcraighall Park & Ride for 50p per 24 hours. Bus services 46 and 48 go from here to BioQuarter.
From the airport, Edinburgh BioQuarter can be reached in approximately 30 mins by car, traffic dependent.

The Usher Building is fully accessible by visitors in wheelchairs or with mobility needs. If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made to facilitate your visit, please let us know prior to your arrival.

Usher at Teviot Place
The Usher Institute remains partially located in the Old Medical School, Teviot Place until week commencing 06 May 2024.
This is part of the Central Area campus, and the Transport & Parking department has substantial travel information for this campus. Reception is through Doorway 1.
