Sophie Buijsen is a part-time PhD candidate based at the department of Science, Technology and Innovation Studies (STIS) and co-supervised by Ingrid Young at the Usher Institute.

Her research focuses on sex, sexuality, and young people. Her thesis is on the knowledge practices of teenage girls in Scotland, using qualitative methods including video diaries. Her academic background is in Human Sciences (BSc, University of Sussex) and Science Communication (MSc, Imperial College London).
