Louise Hatherall is a postdoctoral research fellow working on the ‘Trustworthy Autonomous Systems’ project within CBSS. Louise is broadly interested in socio-legal empirical research, and how this can explore the intersections between the public, public interest, patents, and new or controversial technologies – particularly those which may impact health.  

Research

Louise's current research involves working on the socio-legal arm of the interdisciplinary ‘Trustworthy Autonomous Systems’ project. Louise is also developing a number of articles from her doctoral research, exploring the barriers faced by bringing public interest challenges against the validity of gene patents.
