Jarmo de Vries is a part-time PhD student at the department of Science, Technology and Innovation Studies and CBSS.

Research

Jarmo's PhD research explores the implementation of the NHS Genomic Medicine Service and the transformation of the previous existing genetic testing services. Jarmo focuses on how the organisation and infrastructure of the GMS is constructed and how this enables the production and interpretation of genomic data and creates a new governance regime for genomic testing. Jarmo draws on work from STS, medical sociology, critical data studies, and the history of genomics.
