We are looking for someone to coordinate our public engagement work and outreach with non-academic audiences

We are recruiting a Public Engagement and Knowledge Exchange Manager to coordinate outreach and public engagement with our research. 

You will work with members of the executive team and with staff and students across the Centre to deliver a diverse range of public engagement and knowledge exchange activities and events. You will ensure the ongoing development and evaluation of our engagement strategy and activities.

Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you will work to develop and maintain networks. You will generate and share Centre news across social media platforms and the website and produce content for non-academic audiences.

The role is 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE) and on a fixed term contract between August 2021 to March 2024. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating public engagement activities and events
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of different sectors, groups and individuals, particularly in writing.
  • The ability to distil complex information into simpler forms, and to translate academic writing into accessible English 
  • Strong networking skills and a track record of working across different organisations. 
  • An understanding of health-related social research, and a degree in social science, humanities or health-related discipline
