Annual Meeting for Teachers of Statistics in Medicine and Allied Health Sciences

Welcome

Welcome to the Annual Meeting for Teachers of Statistics in Medicine and Allied Health Sciences 2018!

A message from Margaret MacDougall

This conference has come under a range of similar names over recent years, including ‘Burwalls’ to reflect the name of the traditional venue, where I organized the conference in 2008. This year, I have the privilege of organizing the conference at the University of Edinburgh and I look forward very much to welcoming you here!

As the conference name reflects, I am inviting expressions of interest from individuals who teach statistics to non-specialists in the fields of medicine or allied health sciences.  This is regardless of the stage you are at in your career. The conference has traditionally had a family feel to it whereby we are all hopefully aware of the challenges of our roles and willing to share experiences, practical ideas, available resources and our own research pursuits in enhancing student learning.  I also extend a warm invitation to individuals from non-UK institutions and teachers of statistics who are themselves non-specialists in statistics to participate.

The content on the various pages of this site should be self-explanatory. However, if you have any preliminary queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
