Background

I came to nursing as a late starter and my first staff nurse post after qualifying was in intensive care. While working there, I finished my BSc Nursing before gaining my Specialist Practitioner Qualification in Adult Critical Care.

I started nursing as a result of personal contact with the healthcare sytem to try to help improve patients’ experiences and I still see my current role as trying to further this aim.

Research

I started as a Research Coordinator in 2005 with a particular interest in ICU follow-up and worked with the ECCRG for 16 months before moving away. Since returning to post in 2008, I have been involved in a number of commercial and academic studies and gained a PgDip. in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
