Steven Tominey awarded Kidney Research UK scholarship
We would like to congratulate Steven Tominey , Intercalated BMedSci student, for being awarded a Kidney Research UK incalated scholarship.
Steven's background of training and working as a community pharmacist has given him a special interest in the potential for drugs commonly prescribed in primary care to, under particular circumstances, result in significant adverse outcomes in certain patient populations. This research affords him the opportunity to examine this theme with regards to the prescribing of nephrotoxic medication (such as ACE-inhibitors, diuretics and NSAIDS) in correlation to patients being admitted to the ICU with acute kidney injury within a national cohort study in Scotland.
